Coir is 100% natural and therefore completely bio degradable. Coir has been used successfully as a medium for more than 5 years for some crops. And even when it is eventually discarded it can be allowed to degrade into the soil and composted as green waste, or alternatively used as a soil improver after use, thus reducing disposal costs without causing any pollution or harm to the environment.
